 Little
Birches Chalet is just up the hill from a private 195 acre lake of
beautiful clear mountain water. It's stocked annually and has access
points for putting in your boat. Using the renter tags provided with your
rental, you will have private access to this and other amenities in the
community. You might want to explore the area by boat or maybe check out the
island.
The best thing about your vacation at Little Birches Chalet is that there is
something for everyone. If your wife isn't hooked on fishing quite as much
as you are, perhaps she'll head for the pool or the lake's sand beach; or better
yet, she might enjoy the deck at the club house where she can enjoy a cool drink
and have a lake view of the beach and the pool.
FIVE MINUTES away in Hickory Run State
Park, you'll find excellent fishing
opportunities in
many of the streams and lakes within the park boundaries, especially Fourth Run
and Sand Spring Run. These streams are stocked with brook and brown trout. Mud
Run is a delayed harvest, artificial lure only stream. The lower 2.9 miles of
Hickory Run, from near the Saylorsville Dam to the Lehigh River, is a catch and
release fishing only area.
The Lehigh River, which flows along the western boundary of the park, has
warm-water game fish, trout and panfish. Francis E. Walter Dam, about 20 minutes
from the park, provides boating and angling for trout and warm-water game fish.
Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission laws apply.

If hiking is your bag you can step right out the door and head back through
the woods to enjoy a fantastic mountain experience. If you jump in your
car and drive five miles to Hickory Run you will be overwhelmed with hours of
hiking trails mapped out for you.
